Busyness feels like a safe-haven because who is going to attack or criticise a busy person? Being busy means doing, and doing means praise. This is an illusion. A security blanket-mentality protecting us from the realisation we aren’t doing the things we want, nor the things we should. Busy-ness sounds like depression. It is it’s own benefactor, it is a self-sustaining gyre. The things it stops you from doing (or not doing) are the things you need to do (or not do) in order to not be busy.

2016. What a fucking year.
